Get ready for fun day to open new-look Barrhead street
24 AugustFinal preparations are being put in place for this Saturday's official opening of the £800,000 regeneration work at Cross Arthurlie Street in Barrhead.
Part of the road will be pedestrianised on Saturday 28th August and there'll be a host of activities, events and shows to keep all the family amused.
The family fun day is on from 11am to 4pm this Saturday and includes a street market, face painting, entertainment from Pulse FM, information stalls, bouncy castle, live music, children's fairground rides and the mobile football pitch.
The road and street is being redeveloped by East Renfrewshire Council with support from the Scottish Government's Town Centre fund.
To mark the completion of the work, which includes new road and pavement resurfacing, street furniture, parking and bus bays, the council has joined with local traders to promote a family fun day.
And Scottish Government Minister for Housing and Communities, Alex Neil MSP will officially open the new-look Cross Arthurlie Street.
