'Tide' is with Barrhead author Daniela for new book launch
25 February, 2013Barrhead writer Daniela Sacerdoti has been celebrating the launch of her latest book 'Tide' this week - the second in the Sarah Midnight series.
The new book had its official launch on Saturday 23rd February at Waterstones book store on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow, where Daniela introduced the second part of the trilogy, and spoke to more than 50 fans, talking about the new novel before signing copies of her new book.
The new book 'Tide', is the second in the Sarah Midnight trilogy and is based on a mystery girl who Daniela saw in Barrhead eight years ago before starting to write the first book in the series, and the girl provided the inspiration for the central character.
'Tide' picks up from the end of 'Dreams', and takes the story on. Sarah Midnight is no ordinary teenager. She is a demon hunter, caught up in one of the deadliest wars unknown to man. Orphaned at the age of sixteen, Sarah learned the family trade of hunting without her parents to guide her but under the watchful eye of her 'cousin', who was revealed to be Sean Hannay, no relative at all, but a dear friend of the real Harry Midnight.
Now, in the sequel, the fight continues. Sarah and Sean may have defeated the Scottish Valaya, but the rest of the war still rages on, and Sarah, Sean, Nicholas and their companions must unearth the identity and location of the Enemy - the leader of the demons - before the world plunges into the Time of Demons once more.
Speaking about discovering Sarah at the launch of the first book, Daniela said: "She was standing at a bus stop, and she had long, black hair, a very charismatic expression, and a school uniform - and Sarah is based on her. Her face told a story, and I wanted to tell her tale - and that's where Sarah came from."
At the launch of 'Tide' Daniela thanked the people who were instrumental in the publication of the book, her family - husband Ross, and sons Sorley and Luca, her friends and publishers. The final part of the trilogy is expected to be released towards the end of this year.
